Pictured above is not the inspiration behind Anna and Elsa’s home in Arendelle, but Elsa’s icy fortress in the film. 

While this may look like an igloo, the inside is quite magical. Hôtel de Glace in Quebec City, Canada influenced the directors. 

According to The Travel, “The director of Frozen, Chris Buck, visited the hotel five years before the release of the film while doing research.” 

The hotel has 42 rooms and themed suites. As per the hotel’s website, “The Hôtel de Glace features beautifully ice-sculpted rooms and suites for a luxurious night’s stay.”
