Brooding Woman by Paul Gauguin (1891)

This brooding woman has transformed into a brooding child. She looks as tired as the rest of the world while in quarantine.
However, Paul Gauguin had no intention of depicting the world in 2020, he wanted to showcase the sense of mystery that the Polynesians brought out into the art. The post-Impressionist artist is famous for his experimental use of color as can be seen in the woman’s skin and shadows.
He also reflected Synthetism, which was a method of painting that relied mostly on memory.
