Flower Seller by Diego Rivera (1935)
We couldn’t highlight Frida Kahlo without featuring one of Rivera’s popular art pieces — Flower Seller.
Rivera showcases a lot of peasant people selling flowers in his paintings. Most of his paintings show flower vendors, carriers, and gatherers. His flowers of choice are beautiful white and yellow calla lilies. These flowers have a number of meanings from rebirth and revolution to innocence and purity.
