Just a Casual Day at Work
This shows how behind-the-scenes, wildlife photography can be a bit scary, especially if you consider the massive claws on this golden eagle. The photographer who captured this deadly-attack is Shamil Zhumatov, a Reuters photographer from Almaty, Kazakhstan.
The golden eagle pictured above was caught attacking a cameraman during an annual hunting competition in Chengelsy Gorge called the “Sayat” festival in 2009. Hunters take their eagles in their arms in search of prey in these snowy slopes. The people of Kazakhstan see the eagle as a symbol not only of their nation’s nomadic past but of a romanticized era.
But, there’s nothing romantic about getting attacked by this bird of prey.
